Today we got up and went back to the airport. We got on a bus to a small plane. We boarded and the pilot said the flight time was only gonna be 26 mins. The plane took off and as soon as we finished the take-off the flight attendant got the drink cart. I got ginger ale.

When we got there (small airport just outside Kruger Park), there was a man waiting for us. We got in the car and drove to Elephant Plains safari lodge. We saw wart hog, impala, and giraffes.

We checked in and walked to our rooms. After we got ready we went to lunch. When we got to lunch there was a big cake with zebra stripes, a bow and a heart that said 11. I went over and there was a sign that said “Happy Birthday Megan”! We were all very surprised because none of us ordered a cake. Lunch was a buffet I got a chicken kabob, lasagne/a and salad.

After I ate lunch the staff sang me, “Happy Birthday” and brought me a cupcake and the chef came and told me to cut a piece of cake. The cake was absolutely delicious.

After lunch we went on a safari. We saw a wildabeast, impala, a zebra, rhinos, elephants, baby leopards and a hyena. On the safari, I also had iced tea lemonade.

We went back to our hut to wash up. We had dinner in the boma. It was corn soup, pork fillet and a small cake like thing topped with berries.
